Community Meeting with Professor of Management and International Business, Natasha Hamilton-Hart

Please join me for a meeting with special guest Natasha Hamilton-Hart, Professor of Management, and International Business, on how to have fewer stupid rules and more accountability.

Natasha Hamilton-Hart is a Professor in the Department of Management and International Business at the University of Auckland. Prior to joining the University in 2011, she held academic positions at the National University of Singapore and the Australian National University. She holds a PhD from Cornell University and a BA (Hons) from the University of Otago.

Drawing on the ideas in her book Stupid Rules: Reducing Red Tape and Making Organisations More Effective and Accountable, Natasha argues that excessive bureaucracy and rigid compliance cultures are undermining productivity and, paradoxically, reducing genuine accountability.

With extensive experience researching organisations, governance, and public policy, she offers valuable insights into how an over-reliance on rules can create "accountability sinks" where responsibility is diffused rather than strengthened.
